On September 6, 2012, very early in the morning, Daddy left this world for a MUCH better place. Mom wrote this on her calendar: "George died 4:30 a.m. He had fulfilled his mission here." Very fitting for a truly amazing man--my daddy! And we are so thankful he didn't have to suffer the horrible final stages of ALS. In fact, the day before he died, he took a shower, ate his usual small meals, and had his toenails clipped by one of the wonderful Legacy Hospice ladies (while he talked to her about Jesus). Praise God for making him an integral part of my life!
Christmas day we celebrated at Mom's house and there were only 3 family members (and their families) missing: Wendy, who still lives in New York; Cris, in Massachusetts; and Gano, who was in Hawaii. It was wonderful to be surrounded by so much family!
Then in January, Chet and I took our "annual birthday trip" to celebrate with the Mathias family. Westyn turned 4 on January 13th and Lilyanah turned 7 on the 17th. My how time flies! Wasn't she just in the NICU, that tiny, precious little baby we'd waited so long for?! Now she's a 1st grader, and it still amazes me to her hear read! And Ethne, our cute little kindergartener, is also reading! Sweet Westyn gets one more year alone with his mommy, since his birthday is so late in the school year. It is my prayer that in less than 11 months they will no longer be in New York, but much further west, although only God knows that plan. (If Will and Wendy know something, they haven't said anything to me. ;)
The day after we got home from New York was our sweet little Paisley's 4th birthday! So hard to believe!
A little backtracking -- in February, 2011, Lilyanah got glasses. This was her very 1st day; isn't she adorable!
One thing some of you may or may not believe, our bathroom project is almost done and we've actually been using the shower for a month now! It's really nice to have 2 sinks, for the 1st time in any of our houses. The decorating was the biggest holdup over the past year or so, because I couldn't make up my mind on a countertop!
Those of you who are on Facebook (which I am not) have probably seen lots of cute pictures of Paisley and Boston, but for the rest of you, here they are. This was taken at Daddy's grave on April 3, which would have been his 82nd birthday.
In the past month we've also done a little bit of traveling. Chet and I took Paisley and Boston to Sunriver for a weekend and they got to meet Uncle Bob, Randy and Linda (for the very 1st time) in Prineville. We had a really nice visit and hope to get back there with Corey and Kelsey, too!
